Imphal, November 21 2011:
A visibly upset Chief Minister Okram ibobi Singh today lashed out at Works Minister K Ranjit Singh for the shoody pace of RIMS Road development work.
Expressing strong resentment in full public view on the lethargic pace of road development work inspite of the road stretch being an important route, the Chief Minister also instructed K Ranjit to ensure its completion within five days.
Inspecting the ongoing development works from Nagamapal to RIMS Road areas this morning, O Ibobi also expressed strong displeasure upon spotting water pipes lying in disarray.
Whether or not the PHE Department take the initiative to complete the pipe-line work, black-topping of the road section should begin with immediate effect, advised the CM to the Works Minister.
Noting that the route has many Government and private health care centres in addition to the same road stretch serving as an important transit point, he said further inconveniences caused to the general public will not be tolerated.

The CM also asked departments concerned to complete all pending projects without further delay.
Public Works Department officials present at the site conveyed to the Chief Minister that roadside drain construction work is almost complete and that it would be feasible to begin laying of water pipes.
Electricity Department officials also cited incomplete drain works as a factor for the delay in laying of power cable under ground.
While taking grim note of the belated arrival of top department officials, Ibobi issued a stern instruction to authorities of PWD, PHED and Electricity Departments for cohesion amongst them and to work round the clock in order to complete all the pending works within the five day period.
It may be noted that the sewerage project work was the initial factor for the RIMS Road lying in ruins and it has been in this state for years.
