Sufficient fertilizers to be provided: Nasir

The State Government is planning to provide sufficient fertilizers to the farmers of the State through proper transportation of fertilizers in the State from outside, Agriculture Minister Md Abdul Nasir has informed the State Assembly.
Minister Abdul Nasir was replying to a query made by opposition MLA Joykishan during the Question and Answer Session of the State Assembly session today.
The Minister further informed the House that the State Government is trying to provide fertilizer at the rate of Rs 213.50 to the farmers.
All the private dealers who are willing to provide fertilizers at the same rate are welcome to transport fertilizers.
While replying to another enquiry made by MLA Th Shyamkumar, PHE Minister I Hemochandra said that there is no water supply scheme taken up under the funding of NLCPR as a part of the JNNURM project.
There are altogether 26 schemes taken up under NLCPR and an amount of Rs 6,735.55 lakhs had been sanctioned so far under NLCPR.
On another query made by opposition MLA L Ibomcha, Minister Hemochandra stated that the Chakpikarong Water Supply Scheme is being taken up under NLCPR.
An amount of Rs 105.82 lakhs has been released from the total amount of Rs 114.70 lakhs sanctioned.
The Minister also assured that he would see what actions could be taken up against those contractors who are unwilling to take up the assigned task properly.
Works Minister Dr Kh Ratankumar while replying to a query raised by MLA O Lukhoi said that there is no provision to broaden the State Highway 1 (Mayang Imphal road) as of now.
However, considering the importance of the road, the matter to convert it into an alternative NH would be discussed with
the Chief Minister.
