Father, son beaten up by MU security guards

Imphal, June 20 2013:
A father and his son, who were coming to Manipur University to get admission forms, were allegedly beaten up by the security guards deployed at the main entrance gate of the university.
The incident took place at around 12:30 pm yesterday.
The father has been identified as Irom Sohadev (46), s/o I Kula of Yourabung Makha Leikai and his son as Irom Sandip.
Talking to media persons in this regard at Manipur Press Club here today, Sohadev stated that he and his son were coming in a Maruti 800 to get the admission forms available in A Block of Manipur University.
On their way to the university, they were blocked by the security guards deployed at the main entrance gate and asked to park the car outside and go inside the MU campus on foot.
So, they went inside on foot parking the car outside.
Unfortunately, they found that the forms were not issued on that day.
As they came out they saw a number of passenger vehicles being allowed to drive inside the MU campus.
When they enquired, the security guards said that the authority did not permit entry of vehicles.
On being asked who the authority is, the security guards started beating them up, Sohadev informed.
