Several services exempted on 2nd day of total curfew

Imphal, July 19 2021:
In continuation of its earlier order regarding imposition of total curfew in the state from July 18 to 28 to curb the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic, the state government issued an order on Monday announcing additional activities that would be exempted from purview of the total curfew.
According to the order issued by Chief Secretary Dr Rajesh Kumar, the activities, which have been exempted from the purview of the pandemic-induced restrictions include post office with minimal staff for urgent office work and delivery; veterinary and animal hus-bandry/dairy; e-commerce delivery; Banking and ATM services with limited staff on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 am to 2.30 pm; CAF &PD; Forest department (tree plantation and feeding/ movement of animals); officials and workers of road projects taken up by NHIDCL, Asian Development Bank and railway projects of the state.
The deputy commissioners are to issue necessary orders and SPs shall take necessary action to implement the orders strictly, it informed.
In sync with the order of the chief secretary, district magistrate of Ukhrul Joseph Pauline Kamson has notified exemption of the aforementioned activities from the purview of the curfew in the district.
Meanwhile, the ongoing total curfew is underway in full swing for the second day on Monday.
According to police, the curfew was effective with no movement of public members or violators, especially in the main town areas.
Police put up barricades across the main thoroughfare in different parts of the town like Naga Gate, Dungrei, Police Bazaar and other strategic points.
