6 accused in class XII physics question paper leak case released on bail

Imphal, April 17 2017:
The six accused arrested in connection with the leak of Physics question paper for class XII examination on April 5, conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur were released on bail by the Chief Judicial Magistrate Imphal West, Manipur today.
All the accused Md.Abdur Rahaman, Nongmaithem Mohen, Gurumayum Premchand Sharma , Nameirakpam Romesh Singh, Yumkhaibam Wakup and Sultan Ahmed were produced to the court of CJM Imphal West , Lamkhanpau Tonsing today by the police with a prayer of 15 days remand in custody.
They are charged under section 420/380/34 of the IPC and under section 72 of IT Act.
As per the order of the CJM, it is stated that the question paper was open at 9.10 am by acuse No.1 to 4 for distribution to the invigilators.
When the 4 of them were busy accused No.6 (Sultan Ahmed) entered the room and took a photograph and later asked the accused No.5 (Yumkhaibam Wakup to sent it to students to help them.
The picture was uploaded to a WhatsApp group called 'Galaxy exam Center' which later became viral.
The court found lack of proper care and attention to Accused Number 1 to 4 and rules out insufficient with the charges levelled against them.
As the for accused no.6 the court observed that he is the one who surreptitiously took the photo of the question paper and sent it out.
On Accuse no.5, the court agreed that what he had done is wrong but said it cannot be attracted to the charges level against him.
In view of the circumstances, the court granted bail to the accused no.1 to 4 on the execution of PR bond of Rs.70,000/- with one surety ach who shall be a government employee.
As for the Accused number 5 and 6, both were granted bail on PR bond of Rs.2 lakhs each with one surety each who shall be government employee.
The court rules further investigation and asked all the accused not to leave Manipur or abscond without the permission of the court.
It also order the accused to cooperate the police investigating officer.
