Food Mela begins

Thoubal, April 17 2017:
A two-day food mela organised by Thoubal College under the supervision of Rashtriya Uchachatar Shiksha Aabhiyan (RUSA), Manipur, Government of India began today at Thoubal College campus.
The mela which is based on the theme 'Learn and earn' was attended by Additional Director of University and Higher Education Dr RK Yaiskul Singh, Principal of Thoubal College Okram Chaoba Devi, Association of Food Scientists and Technologists, Manipur president Ng Maimu Singh as dignitaries.
Dr RK Yaiskul stated that food processing technology is one of the vocational courses in all the colleges in India under RUSA mission.
Principal O Chaoba stated that Thoubal College is all set to open a diploma course in food preservation technology.
A total of 34 stalls were opened at the mela where various colleges and entrepreneurs took part.
