Kakching, April 17 2017:
Joint Non-Government Voluntary Organisation has stated that some unknown person(s) poured poison at the bank of the Sekmai river leading to scarcity of drinking water.
Condemning the act, secretary publicity JNVGO Kakching said that Sekmai river is the source of livelihood for the people and the Keirak water supply scheme has stopped drawing water from the river as it is contaminated.
The organisation has urged the authority concerned to look into the matter and take up necessary action urgently.
