IIMC at Aizawl to be media training hub for NE

KG Suresh, DG, IIMC and Mayank Agarwal, ADG, IIS had a brief interaction with mediapersons at HQ, IGAR (South), Mantripukhri today and IIMC in Aizawl will be developed as a training hub for journalists of the North East States.
During the interaction, KG Suresh mentioned that there are six IIMC institutes in India- Delhi, Jammu, Kerala, Odisha , Amravati and Aizawl.
He said, "IIMC in Aizawl is under construction and will be developed as a training hub for journalists of the North East States.
International standard media education will be available for aspiring journalists of the region" .
He mentioned that the aim of taking up such initaitive is to reach out to maximum number of students not only from the North East States but also students from the neighbouring countries like Myanmar and Bhutan.
He also informed that a community radio will be also set up in the campus.
IIMC is a premier training institute for journalists in the country.
It provides training to IIS officers as well as provides PG diploma courses in Journalism.
It also provides communication training to the armed forces of the country.
