Hydrochloride tablets, Ephedrine powder destroyed

Moreh, May 04 2012:
A huge quantity of banned pharmaceutical substances including 4 bags of Ephedrine powder, 13 boxes of Polyfed tablets , 4 bags of Respifed tablets (4 bags) and another 16 boxes of Respifed which troops of 42 Assam Rifles posted at Bongyang village seized from a spot along NH-39 under Moreh PS on May 2 were consigned to flame today.
Disposal of the seized items was carried out at around 10 am today in accordance to an order issued by the CJM Chandel.
Addl Superintendent of Moreh Police Y Ashokumar Singh, OC of Moreh Police Station O Doren Singh, SDPO Moreh M Rameshwar, officials of 9 AR and leaders of various communities settling in the border town were present at the time of destroying the seized items.
Estimated cost of the destroyed items was said to be around Rs 27, 15, 654 .
