Hostels for Minority Girls in every district: Amin Shah

Special hostels for minority girls would be constructed in every district of the State under the Prime Minister Package programme by the Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India, MLA Md Amin Shah, who is the Parliamentary Secretary in charge of MOBC, has informed.
Md Amin Shah was speaking as Chief Guest of the 6th Foundation Day of All Manipur Muslim Girls' Student Union (AMMGSU) at Kuki Inn here today.
He further stated that the India Government and the State Government have been taking up a number of welfare programmes for the Muslim girl students so that the problems faced by them in the society are reduced.
Among the programmes taken up, a scheme to provide free cycles to the Muslim girl students' upto class IX standard is all set to be launched.
The scheme is already in force in other parts of the country, he added.
He went on to inform that the State Government is also all set to construct special hostels for minority girls in every district of the State under the under the Prime Minister Package programme.
Apart from this, hostel for SC girl students will also be constructed at Sekmai and Kakching.
For the Muslim girls, hostels have already been constructed at Hatta, Lilong, Kiyamgei and Akampat.
There are also plans to construct another hostel at Sangaiyumpham.
As such, the Muslims girl students should not feel dejected and lonely.
Presided over by Rukshar Chowdhuri, President of AMMGSU, the function was also attended by Sitara Begum, Advisor of AMMGSU; Dr Sultana Begum, Guest Lecturer of DM College of Arts; Syed Feroja, Asst Professor in Modern College; Md Salaodin Khan, Project Manager of MOBEDS; Rose Mangshi, President of Kuki Mothers Association and Md Farid, President of AMMCO as Guests of Honour.
