Sangai Photo Festival begins

A five-day Sangai Photo Festival jointly organised by Department of Tourism and Tourism Corporation of Manipur Limited was kicked of today at Kangla Hall, Imphal.
MAHUD Minister Th Shyamkumar Singh attended the inauguration ceremony as chief guest while chairman of Tourism Corporation of Manipur Limited Dr Sapam Ranjan Singh and co-founder, Nazar Foundation and the Delhi Photo Festival Prashant Panjiar attended the event as president and guest of honour respectively.

event, Th Shyamkumar said that the photo festival was being organised as a part of the ongoing Manipur Sangai Festival 2018.The photo festival is exhibiting photos from the time of British Raj in Manipur.
Commenting on the various photographs of State freedom fighters and related photographs on displayed at the exhibition, Shyamkumar further exhorted that the people of the State, specially the youths should remember and learn their past and move forward on the path set before them by the ancestors and great heroes of the time.
Chairman of Tourism Corporation of Manipur Limited Dr Sapam Ranjan said that the festival is highlighting the various episodes of Manipur history.
He urged the people of the State to visit the Sangai Photo Festival and familiarised themselves with the photographic representation of the history of the State.
