State logs lowest TPR since July 1; seven succumb

The state on Tuesday recorded seven deaths and 633 new positive cases out of 5118 samples tested and registered a positivity rate of 12.37 per cent, which is the lowest since July 1 when 11.39 per cent positivity rate was recorded.
The active caseload has come down to 6984 out of which 2820 (40.38 per cent) are in home isolation, 2016 (28.87 per cent) in CHlCs, 1265 (18.11 per cent) in CCCs and 883 (12.64 per cent) in hospitals.
Among the hospitalised patients, 128 are admitted to ICU/HDU wards, 393 are on oxygen support and 77 on ventilator support.
At the same time, 56 patients are also on oxygen support in different CCCs.
As of Monday evening, 2255 beds are available in different CCCs.
There is no updated information on government, private and district hospitals as well as CHCs.
So far, the state has recorded 76,024 positive cases and 1290 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic.
The current month saw an addition of 6925 new cases and 108 fatalities out of which 4799 new cases and 72 fatalities were recorded in the last seven days alone.
According to official reports, the 633 new cases included 629 people (301 male & 328 female) from among the general population and four personnel of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) .
Their samples were tested at RIMS (24), JNIMS (35), District Hospitals (435) and other testing centres (139).The positive cases from among the general population are from ImphalEast (133), Imphal West (269), Thoubal (30), Bishnupur (39), Kakching (23), Ukhrul (7), Churachandpur (66), Chandel (9), Sen-apati (19), Tamenglong (3), Tengnoupal (2), Noney (24), Pherzawl (3), Kamjong (l) and Kangpokpi (l).
All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, as per the official reports.
The State Level Covid-19 Deaths Audit Committee reported 7 Covid-19 deaths in the last 24 hours but no age and gender information have been provided.
The district wise fatalities are Imphal West (2), Imphal East (3), Bishnupur (l) and Tengnoupal (l).
The cumulative number of deaths has reached 1664.Out of seven victims one had no co-morbidities and two had received first dose vaccine.
In the last 24 hours, 648 patients were discharged from home isolation (302), RIMS (13), JNIMS (7), CCCs (127) and CHICs (199).The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,05,424 (general population - 1,01,363 and CAPF personnel - 4,061).Number of recovered cases is 96,776 (general population - 92,803 and CAPF personnel - 3,973) and number of active cases is 6,984 (general population - 6,901 and CAPF personnel - 83).The recovery rate is 91.79 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, 1509 D-type and 357 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities.
Vaccination rate improved slightly and Monday recorded administration of 12,949 vaccine doses.
So far, 11,53,583 people have been vaccinated but only 2,53,146 of them have been inoculated with both doses of vaccine against 3,09,596 eligible people.
Meanwhile, 20 new positive cases were detected out of 202 samples tested from Monday 2 pm to Tuesday 2 pm in Kakching district.
Two cases were detected at Jivan Hospital and the remaining 18 at government RAT sites.
One is from Thoubal, another from Chandel districts and the remaining are residents of Kakching district, according to DSO Kakching.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (35,347), Imphal East (23,643), Thoubal (8705), Churachandpur (8996), Kangpokpi (2468), Tamenglong (2901), Bishnupur (7926), Senapati (1931), Ukhrul (1877), Kakching (5823), Chandel (2057), Noney (930), Tengnoupal (987), Jiribam (966), Kamjong (606) and Pherzawl (261) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Ifnphal West (561), Imphal East (395), Thoubal (151), Churachandpur (143), Kangpokpi (54), Tamenglong (12), Bishnupur (160), Senapati (6), Ukhrul (21), Kakching (103), Chandel (31), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (12), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (4) and Pherzawl (0).However, the figure does not match with data released by CMOs and DSOs of some districts.
The state health authority is not willing to provide district-specific case status despite repeated requests from the media.
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 33,975 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 22,938 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 3,66,282 tests per million population against the national average of 3,46,442 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.58 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, 5118 samples were tested and the single day pos-itivity rate was 12.37 per cent while the cumulative positivity rate rose to 9.28 per cent.
