EEUWA presents gifts to widows

An event called "Ningol Chakoubada Lukhrabisingi Khudol", to honour and present gifts to widows, was organised at Top Khongnangkhong today.
The event was organised by Eastern Educated Unemployed Welfare Association (EEUWA).
Altogether 19 widows of the area who are below 60 were awarded simple gifts in connection with the impending Ningol Chakouba festival.
Speaking on the occasion, EEUWA general secretary, Laishram Arju said that the group was established by a conglomerate of educated but unemployed youth of the State five months back.
Saying that the association is planning to open a Legal Aids Clinic, he added that few events including legal awareness programmes have been organised by EEUWA.
He also informed the association's plan to provide possible assistance to various orphan homes in the State.
Khurai Khaidem Leikai Gram Panchayat Pradhan, Mukta Rajkumari, EEUWA president, Longjam Ranjan Singh, OC Porompat PS, Moirangthem Binodkumar Singh and Public Club president, Laishram Vivekananda attended the event as presidium members.
