Imphal, February 28 2015 :
Passengers traveling to different destinations on Saturday afternoon were in for a rude shock when they discovered that there was not a single trolley outside the departure terminal area to be used for carrying luggage inside while checking-in at the Imphal International Airport.
Many passengers had to wait for minutes wondering where the trolleys had disappeared.
Later, it was found out that the trolleys had been shifted to the arrival section and kept there for use by passengers arriving from other destinations.
It was also learnt that those responsible for bringing back the trolleys after use at the arrival terminal had not taken adequate measures to ensure relocating the same.

A relative of a passenger who was to board a Kolkata bound flight via Guwahati with scheduled departure at around 2 pm said, "We were indeed shocked when we discovered there were no trolleys around." For a while, the passenger along with his relatives thought, there could have been a shortage of trolleys during the busy air traffic hours.
They were told by some private airlines sources that the same kind of situation was on for a long time due to utter confusion on how the trolleys should be managed at the airport.
Another relative of passenger said there seems to be some confusion on whether it was the Airports Authority of India (AAI) or some other agencies who should be overseeing the management of the trolleys.
He said even if the AAI out-sourced the management of trolleys, the passengers should not be made to undergo traumatic experience.
This type of mismanagement only adds to the woes of the passengers especially those departing from Imphal and also in checking-in at the scheduled time made mandatory by most airlines.
