Imphal, August 19 2021:
Large number of students and guardians, who are seeking admission in the five government higher secondary schools in the heart of Imphal had to return home dejectedly without getting the admission form on Thursday.
Following a notification of the directorate of education (S), students submitted online forms seeking admission in class XI in TG Higher Secondary School, Johnstone Higher Secondary School, CC Higher Secondary School, Ananda Singh Academy and Ibotonsana Girls' Higher Secondary School.
The respective school authorities later announced cut off marks and informed the registered students who are eligible to get admission to get admission form from the schools on Thursday while setting August 21 as the deadline for form submission.
Large number of students and guardians reached these schools since early morning to get admission form but the school authority did not issue the form.
Upon enquiry, school authorities said that they halted issuance of form after Manipuri Students' Federation (MSF) raised objection against the cut-off mark set by the schools.
They told the students and guardians that they will get a confirmation around 1 pm after a talk between MSF and education (S) officials.
Even after 1 pm, the school authorities did not make an announcement to which the students and guardians expressed dissatisfaction.
However, TG Higher Secondary School issued a token for collecting the admission form on a later date.
