10 from state crack UPSC exam

Imphal, May 04 2012:
In all 10 candidates from Manipur cleared the Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2011, the results of which was announced today.
Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducted the written part of the examination (Main) in October-November, 2011 and the interviews for Personality Test in March-April, 2012.A total number of 910 candidates have been recommended for appointment to Indian Administrative Service; Indian Foreign Service; Indian Police Service; and Central Services, Group 'A' and Group 'B' .
Out of the total recommended candidates, 10 candidates from Manipur have cracked the examination and they have been recommended for appointment to the various Indian Civil Services.
The selected candidates from Manipur are Aribam Radhabinod Sharma, Oinam Sarankumar Singh, Yumkhaibam Sabir, Nongmaithem Bandana, Ann Rammawii Haokip, Soibam Victor Dev, Robert Moirangthem, Gaikhonlung Panmei, Yengkhom Nabakishwar Singh and Bantee Singh Konthoujam.
Nongmaithem Bandana is the daughter of Nongmaithem Nimai and Nongmaithem ongbi Manihal of Kakching Makha Leikai.
Her father Nimai was an Ex Minister of Education of Manipur government and her mother Manihal is the Principal of Kakching Higher Secondary School.
Yengkhom Nabakishwar is also from Kakching Makha Leikai and he is the son of Yengkhom Tomba and Yengkhom ongbi Sanahal.
His father Tomba is a retired Assistant teacher of Kakching Higher Secondary School.
Representatives of Lois (ROL) in a press release lauded the grand success of the two persons from Kakching in the UPSC examinations.
Soibam Victor Dev is the son of Soibam Devendra and Soibam Sabitri of Sagolband Tera Lukram Leirak.
Devendro is a retired lecture of Imphal College and Sabitri is a housewife.
Victor Dev is holding the post of Medical Officer at Ukhrul District Hospital at present.
This time, Ms Shena Aggarwal (Roll No.233541) has topped the Examination.
She has done MBBS from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi.
This is her 3rd attempt.
The 2nd ranker is Ms.Rukmani Riar (Roll No.27895). She has done Master of Arts (Social Entrepreneurship) from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai.
The is her 1st attempt.
The list of selected candidates includes 420 General (including 21 Physically Challenged candidates), 255 Other Backward Classes (including 8 Physically Challenged candidates), 157 Scheduled Castes (including 4 Physically Challenged candidate) and 78 Scheduled Tribes candidates.
Appointment to the various Services will be made according to the number of vacancies available with due consideration to the provisions contained in Rules 2 and 19 of the Rules of the Examination and subject to the final decision of the Hon'ble Supreme Court / Hon'ble High Courts / Hon'ble C.A.Ts.on the S.L.Ps / R.As / W.Ps./ O.As.pending therein.
The number of vacancies reported by the Government for the Indian Administrative Service is 170 (85 General, 46 Other Backward Classes, 26 Scheduled Castes and 13 Scheduled Tribes); for the Indian Foreign Service is 40 (23 General, 9 Other Backward Classes, 5 Scheduled Castes and 3 Scheduled Tribes) .
