PNTM holds one day career counselling programme

The Poumai Naga Tsiidoumai Me (Poumai Naga Students Organisation) on Saturday organised a "One Day Career Counselling" programme at Daikho Va School, Senapati in collaboration with Senapati District Administration under the theme 'Empowering Future'.
The programme was attended by more than 670 students from various schools and colleges in the district.
The event aimed at grooming the students and enhancing their potentials to equip themselves with functional knowledge like values, attitudes, and skill sets.
The programme also aimed at enlightening the students on how to choose the right career and grab jobs opportunities by helping them make clear decision from an early stage.
Isaac Thaoveinii, in his presidential address, said: "Students are responsible citizens of tomorrow, therefore education is the only solution to define who you want to become and how you want to build a society a better place to live in.
You are the generators of ideas because you are not corrupted by limitation of the real world." Various experts who delivered lectures were Duna Duo, Jr MCS, SDC Senapati, Dr Ng Wilson Changio, MBBS, DGO (Obstetrician and Gynaecologist) MO (District Hospital), RD Peter, president SOKGA, Joseph Sha, JTO BSNL, Vaveinai Margaret Lanah, Branch Manager Bank of India, Col Arvind Pandey S02 (Edn) 59 Mountain Bde.
The event was divided into two Sessions.
1st session dealt on the perspective of competitive examinations and 2nd session dwelt on the professional/vocational career plans.
Each panellist were given 10 to 15 minutes to share their ideas.
Panel discussions on various topics were also conducted and moderated by Dr Paode Akha, Asst Prof DBC, Maram, Rejina H, Lecturer at Mt Pisgah College, D John Sha, Asst Conservators of Forest, Central Forest Division Imphal, Govt of Manipur and Kitha Phelamai, Vice Principal of New Life College.
Extending encouragement and support to labourers in the district, PNTM acknowledged initiatives taken up by Dani from Liyai, an ice cream seller in the market and Hrihne from Phaibung Khullen who operate a saloon at Viewland Colony.
They were awarded cash award as token of appreciation by the PNTM.
