Shyamkumar heaps praises on BJP Govt

Asserting that there will be a strong Government only when there is a strong relationship amongst the people belonging to different communities, Forest & Environment Minister Thounaojam Shyamkumar maintained that Chief Minister N Biren-led BJP Government has been taking up various welfare programmes for ensuring equal development in the hills and valley.
Inaugurating a newly built community hall at Nungbrang under Andro AC today as the chief guest, Shyamkumar who also holds the portfolio of MAHUD cited "Go to Village" mission to be launched on May 1 as one of the significant achievements of the BJP-led coalition Government at the State.
He elaborated that under the mission, camps would be organised in villages to ensure enrolment of all the villagers for Government's social security schemes and find out the area-specific needs of different villages.
He said that public support is much required in bearing fruits of the various welfare programmes being taken up by the Government.
The Minister claimed that the community hall christened "Thumkhong Lairembi Community Hall" was constructed at the cost of around Rs 25 lakh from the MLA Local Area Development Fund.
Remaining works for fencing and flooring of the hall will be started soon, he added.
He also said that construction of "Thumkhong Lairembi Temple" situated adjacent to the community hall will be started before next year.
The primary school nearby the hall will be renovated within the month of May and its required teachers will also be appointed at the earliest, he announced.
Shyamkumar mentioned that land of the playground next to the community hall was acquired for the locals.
He assured that the concerned authority will be asked to ensure smooth functioning of Keithelmanbi PHC.
Today's inauguration function was also attended by Pradhan, Tumukhong Moirangpurel Grama Panchayat, Kh Thasana Leima; president, Nungbrang Tumukhong Lairembi Youth Club, H Gopal Meetei and several leaders of women's organisations of the village.
