Imphal, April 29 2018:
Committee on United Club Khundrakpam Kendra and Saikul Kendra Against the Unjustified Shifting of Imphal East District Hospital from Sagolmang, have urged all those concerned to stop all forms of dispute regarding shifting of Imphal East District Hospital from Sagolmang, and also appealed to the Government to construct the hospital at Sagolmang at the earliest.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club today, the committee's co-convenor, M Devaratan said that the committee was formed today by 58 clubs of Khundrakpam and Saikul Constituencies.
Claiming that it is unfortunate the new Government re-laid the foundation stone of Imphal East District Hospital at Kyamgei, he said that the people of the two Constituencies face a lot of inconveniences while going to JNIMS or RIMS for treatment due to poor road conditions, the long travel distance as well as financial problem.
Mentioning the current crisis between Peace and Development Coordination' Committee (PDCC) and JAC against Unnatural Shifting of Imphal East District Hospital, Sagolmang, he asked the two organisations to end their dispute as their demand is the same and reasoned that suoh disputes may sideline the real issue.
He said that the committee has adopted a resolution to organise a meeting and unite PDCC and the JAC and discuss the issue of the District Hospital with the local MLAs.
The committee has also resolved that PDCC, JAC or the committee should not take up steps on their own regarding the District Hospital issue, without consulting the other.
Devaratan said "If the committee, JAC and PDCC join hands in demanding the construction of the District Hospital at Sagolmang, the Government will surely give a positive response" .
