Handicaps of Manipur help Japan quake, tsunami victims

Handicaps in Manipur Thursday donated money to Japan's earthquake and tsunami victims.
The All Manipur Handicapped Persons' Welfare Association handed over the money to the Indo-Japan Friendship Association.
They donated money was culled from their monthly pensions.
The handicapped persons donated the money as soon as donors of the pension scheme of the All Manipur Handicapped Persons' Welfare Association distributed the the pension amounts today.
Laishram Nabakishor, the Father of Handicapped Persons, MLA RK Anand, Th Sumati, Imphal West ZP member and Pradhan G Bihari were the donors of the pension scheme.
Handicapped persons and beneficiaries of the scheme, announced the donation of their monthly pension amount to the Japan earthquake and tsunami victims at the pension distribution function held at the residence of MLA RK Anand today.
With the announcement, the president of the association T Romeo handed over the amount to the acting president of the Indo-Japan Friendship Association, N Ibomcha.
MLA RK Anand also donated ' 10,000 to the Indo-Japan Friendship Association which is raising funds to help the victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan.
President Ibomcha thanked the handicapped persons and the MLA for their help for the victims of the Japan earthquake and tsunami and said that the helping hand extended by the handicapped persons will surely gives a strong message to the people of the state as well as to the world.
The amount may be meager but it is a great humanitarian help extended by the handicapped people, he added.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA RK Anand said that he was happy with the humanitarian help extended by the handicapped people who themselves need help from others to support their livelihood.
"I will not forget their generosity," he added.
Romeo, president of the handicapped association, said that even though handicapped persons are looked down in society, they have the heart to love people.
They have the heart to share the sorrow of others.
