Imphal, April 21 2011:
Selection of beneficiaries for construction of 1133 houses within the 27 wards of Imphal Municipal Council (IMC) has been completed.
A source in IMC informed that the houses would be built under Basic Service to Urban Poor (BSUP) Scheme of the Jawaharlal Nehru urban Renewal Mission (JNURM) .
The IMC has prepared three designs for these houses, out of which beneficiaries may choose any one.
It is estimated that one house would cost around Rs 3 lakhs.
Of this amount, the beneficiaries should produce 10 per cent while the State Government and the Central would produce 10 per cent and 80 per cent respectively.
These houses would be of semi-puca type and would have tin roofs.
