Training on scientific cultivation held at Ukhrul

Ukhrul , June 19 2019:
Two days training on Capacity Building and Inputs Distribution Programme on "Scientific Cultivation of High Yielding Rice Varieties Under Rainfed Condition for Doubling Farmers Income" under NEH component began at KVK Ukhrul, ICAR Manipur Centre today sponsored by the ICAR Indian Institute of Agricultural Biotechnology Ranchi, Jharkhand.
The function was graced by Dr Anil Kumar, Sr Scientist IIAB, Ranchi while Ngamreishang AO, DAO Ukhrul; T Suisa, AO, DAO, Kamjong and Dr Y Ramakrishna, Sr Scientist and Head of KVK Ukhrul seated on the dais.
A technical session for the farmers was also conducted later during which Ngamreishang, AO Ukhrul; Dr Solei Luiram and Yirmeila V Zimik enlightened the farmers on scientific cultivation of crops, plant protection and seed production.
While the noon session stressed on the topics related to doubling farmers income followed by interaction with farmers.
Seed inputs of soybean, rice, black rice, rice bean, groundnut and black gram were distributed to more than 50 farmers from 13 villages of Ukhrul and Kamjong districts.
