The Returning Officer of MUSU Election 2018-19, has notified that the election of office bearers (president, general secretary, finance secretary, cultural secretary, sports secretary), class representatives of all Departments/Centres and one representative of PhD Scholars to MUSU for the term 2018-19, will be held on January 25 .
A notice issued by the RO informed that the last date of filing nomination paper is 4.30 pm of January 19 and the scrutiny of the nomination papers will be held at 11 am of January 21 at MU Centenary hall.
It informed that the withdrawal of nomination paper can be done upto 11 am of January 23 at the office of the RO and Students Home.
The election/poll will be conducted on January 25, from 8.30 am to 12 noon at Old Social Sciences Block and the counting of the vote will begin from 1.30 am (the same day) at Anthropology Department and the results will be declared just after the completion of vote counting.
The notice further informed that the cost of nomination paper is Rs 100 per form and the security deposit for presidentship/secretaryship is Rs 1000 per nomination form.
It then explained that security deposits for the elected candidates will be refunded whereas that of the unsuccessful candidates will not be refunded.
50 percent of the security deposits for the candidates who withdraw their nomination papers will be refunded, it added.
Pointing out that the nomination papers can be availed from the office of the RO (Dean of Students' Welfare Office) on or before January 19, it informed that duly sealed and filled up nomination forms along with particulars of the candidates with recent photographs attested by the Heads of the Departments concerned will be received by the RO during office hours till January 19 (till 4.30 pm) and the nomination forms will be examined by the Election Committee for the eligibility of the candidature.
Nomination forms submitted after the deadline will not be entertained, it stated adding that detailed information can be had from the office of the RO .
