LHPDA to release fishes at Leishang Hiden

Leishang Hiden Protection and Development Authority (LHPDA) founder settler LC Romesh has conveyed that different indigenous fishes will be released at the historic Leishang Hidden with a view of conserving and repairing the water body.
Speaking at a press meet held at Kyamgei Pal Ahanbi, he maintained that LHPDA has been taking up many steps to promote, conserve and protect Leishang Hiden in the past few years adding that the fishes will be released as part of its mission.
He further informed that the authority, has recently prohibited the pumping of water from Leishang Hidden using a tanker and a water pump, which LHPD suspects is a commercial purpose and cautioned that the water can be used by the locals living around the area for domestic purpose but they will not allow the water to be commercialised.
He warned that fishing or setting fish nets at Leishang Hiden will be banned as new fishes will be released soon.
Romesh further cautioned that a fine of Rs 5000 will be "imposed on those who fail to follow the rules or make the water body dirty.
He lauded CM N Biren for his assurance to give emphasis towards repairing Leishang Hiden, during the 185th memorial ceremony of Maharaja Gambhir Singh.
