After mass testing, DC IW plans mass vaccination

Imphal, June 14 2021:
After carrying out mass testing in different localities of Imphal West district, the district administration is now planning mass vaccination drive in different localities of the district soon.
Source said that the ongoing mass testing drive will wind up in a couple of days after which the district administration will put its focus on mass vaccination by setting up vaccination sites in different localities.
DC Imphal West had also reportedly talked with elected representatives of different assembly constituencies located within the jurisdiction of Imphal West in this regard.
DC Kirankumar reportedly sought assistance from the elected representatives to collect data required for cent per cent vaccination of the residents of Imphal West district following which many MLAs have already started the groundwork for collecting required data.
The source further informed that the district administration sought help from the MLAs to utilise elected members of ZP, GP, ward development members, clubs and organisations for collecting data on number of vaccinated people with detailed report on first and second dose and number of persons pending for vaccination in their respective constituencies and submit the same to the DC through the SDOs concerned within a short period.
Vaccine supply will be calculated based on the data.
Under the policy, elected members of local bodies in association with local clubs should collect data such as number of members in a family along with age, profession and vaccine status, the source said.
Meanwhile, a mass testing for whole Patsoi Part 2 was held for the second time on Monday under the aegis of Patsoi MLA Ak Mirabai.
Local clubs, while thanking the MLA, DC Imphal West and state health department for their contribution in fighting the pandemic.
