Governor Gurbachan Jagat has conveyed greetings to the people of Manipur and especially Muslim brethren on the auspicious occasion of Id-Ul-Juha.
In his greeting message, Governor Gurbachan stated that the festival of Id-Ul-Zuha reminds us of Ibrahim's willingness to sacrifice his son on God's instructions at the altar of the common good.
It also reminds us of the significance of sacrifice and charity that mark the fulfillment of responsibilities of life.
"It exhorts us to work for peace, amity brotherhood and harmony amongst all sections of the society," the Governor conveyed.
Various other bodies and organisations of the state have also conveyed their greetings on the occasion of Id-Ul-Juha which falls on November 28 (Saturday).
The Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC), Manipur People's Party (MPP), the Minority Cell of the MPP, United Committee Manipur (UCM), United Muslims' Council (UMC), Manipur and Pangal Students' Organisation (PSO), Manipur, have extended greetings to the people especially Muslim brethren who are celebrating the festival.
