Echoeing the the World Health Organisation (WHO) Conference in Sydney sometimes ago which underlined, "Obesity is more dangerous than terrorists", the Anti-Obesity Day observation in Imphal on Thursday noted the seriousness of the excess body fat problem.
Dr Kh Kheroda Devi, retired director of Health and Family Welfare, Manipur said during the 4th World Anti-Obesity Day held on Thursday at Nupilal Memorial Complex, Imphal, organized by Herbalife, Manipur that the excess of body gives people many difficulties physically.
The function highlighted the causes and several chronicle diseases associated with obesity and informed that it is a symptom of terrible poor malnutrition.
In the Sydney Conference of WHO, it was stated that 'obesity is more dangerous than terrorists'.

Kheroda Devi who presided as the chief guest of the function, stated that obesity' is associated with several chronicle diseases leading to the reduction of the lifespan of human beings.
Considering the environmental factor such as the food habits, quantity and quality of food as the major factor of the causes of the health disease, obesity Dr.Kh.
Kheroda Devi stated that she advised her patients to have adequate food but not in excess.
At the same time, to ensure getting required nutrients from the food, added the doctor.
While informing that the youths of today are suffering from diabetes at the age of 12, she stated that diabetes develops owing to obesity.
If a person feels sleepy and lethargic then it a symptom of gaining weight, informed Dr.Kh.

Thoiba, former international hockey player elaborated that obesity is more prone to the urban working group in which their nature of work does not involve physical activities than the rural people who are engaged in physical activities.
Regular exercises and balanced diet can control obesity, added the former sportsperson.He added that in case of the sportspersons, if he or she wants to be a gold medal winner or Olympics champion then they should control obesity and should lay emphasis on the balanced diet, fitness and special nutrition of food.
Meanwhile, while organizing the Anti-Obesity Day, Herbalife, Manipur showcased the benefits of using the products of Herbalife in controlling obesity.
Sumit Jain, one of the consumers of the Herbalife products revealed that he had shed a total of 34 kilogram (kg) by using Herbalife products.
Initially, he was 152 kg and currently 87kg.His weight was reduced in just six months span, added Sumit Jain.
