CM, others extend Id greetings

Chief Minister O Ibobi, MP Dr T Meinya and Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) President Gaikhangam have conveyed their greetings to the people of Manipur in general and the Muslim brethrens in particular on the occasion of Id-ul-Zuha, which falls on October 27 .
In his message, Ibobi stated that "Id-ul-Zuha reminds us of the supreme sacrifice made by Prophet Ibrahim for the sake of mankind.
Let this sacrifice inspire us to dedicate ourselves to all causes that are good and noble and work for the betterment of humanity at large.
May the occasion also spread the message of friendship and forgiveness among the people of the State for a more peaceful and prosperous Manipur, he added.
While wishing the people on the occasion of Id-ul-Zuha, MP Dr Th Meinya appealed to all the people to live in peace and harmony and prayed that the day brings all the developments in the state.
On behalf of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee, its President Gaikhangam also extended Id-ul-Zuha greetings to the people and recalled that Hajarat Ibrahim tried to sacrifice his only son Ismail to Allah.
Being satisfied with the sincere and extreme sacrifice of Hajarat Ibrahim, the Allah instead of taking his son made him offer a Dumba.
Gaikhangam also prayed to bring peace and solidarity among the people of the hills and the plains and the different communities settling in the state with the coming of Id-ul-Zuha.
