State level mock exercise on earthquake held at Imphal East

Imphal, December 21 2020:
A State Level Mock Exercise on Earthquake was carried out in the office complex of DC, Imphal East today with an aim to prepare and educate the people of Imphal East district about the emergency actions to be taken during an earthquake.
The mock drill was organised by District Administration, Imphal East in collaboration with Directorate of Relief and Disaster Management.
The mock drill was carried out based on the mock scenario of an earthquake of magnitude 6.7 on the Richter scale in Indo-Myanmar border region of Ukhrul district and the activities conducted include high rise rescue, collapsed structure search and rescue and fire rescue.
The exercise aimed at involving all the stale holders including Incident Response Team of Imphal East district police, NDRF-12 Bn, medical team and Fire services in order to assess response of the district towards a disaster situation saw participation of about 150 people including District Level Officers, officials of different offices located in the district, voluntary organisations and teachers of the district.
