ACME school declared "Drug Free'

ACME Higher Secondary School, Yairpok has been declared a 'Drug Free' institute during the Awareness Programme on Prevention of Substance and Alcohol Abuse held in the campus of the institute today under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Campaign (NMBC) of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India.
The function was attended by Yumnam Biren Singh, Principal ACME; Yumnam Laksman Singh, Member Nasha Mukt Bharat Campaign Committee; Haobam Bimolchand Singh, Secretary School Management Committee and Mandir Laishram, Secretary Social Action Development Organisation, teachers and guardians of students, said a statement issued by Thoubal District Level Committee NMBC.
Speaking at the programme, Yumnam Biren Singh said that the issue of drug abuse is a never ending process and urged the participants to apply knowledge gained from such awareness programmes in dealing with drug abuse by students, said the statement.
He also requested the parents to watch out for any behavioural change of the children and act accordingly to tackle the problem of drug abuse at an early stage.
