Stating that state government authorities failed to clear their salaries since December last, the Anganwadi Workers and Helpers Union, Manipur today pressed the state government to look into the matter and clear the pending salaries at the earliest.
In a statement of the Union signed by its general secretary, N Binodini that Anganwadi Workers, Helpers and other functionaries of ICDS are not paid their salaries/honorarium in time for months together even though Centre had already released the amount.
An amount of Rs 2888.69 lakhs for ICDS(G) including two installments of enhanced honoraria (arrears) was released during the year, 2008-09.Similarly, an amount of Rs 761.32 lakh towards as first installment of grants for ICDS (G) for 2009-10 has also been released by the ministry of women and child development.
As the honoraria were not clear out by the state social welfare department the utilization certificates were not submitted to the ministry.
An intimation of the ministry provided to the secretary, department of social welfare in response to a representation of the All Manipur ICDS Supervisors Association indicated the non-submission of the utilization certificate, the statement observed.
