Imphal, October 06, 2009:
MLA, E Dwijamani today said that the charged against him and MLA Lokeshwor hurting the prestige of a member of state human rights member was a baseless one.
The MLAs simply reacted to the word of the commission member's "Nakhoi Ibobi-gi taku ngaktanine" on that day.
In a briefing with the media persons at his official quarter at Bapupara, MLA Dwijamani recalling the incident of October 2 last which he himself, MLA Th Lokeshwor and MLA Ng Bijoy also attended said that they together came down to the ground floor of the GM hall after paying homage to the statue of Mahatma Gandhi.
At the time, rights member Ng Nongyai turning towards MLA Ng Bijoy said "Nakhoi CM Ibobigi machum chaba kangbunine" and to the MLA Lokeshwor said "Nakhoi Ibobi-gi takunine".
Protesting against the word of the commission member, Lokeshwor said not to tell like that.
After saying this, MLAs step in into their respective vehicles and left the place.
Only Ng Nongyai remained there murmuring and talking alone there.
The commission members expressing the incident to the media while giving statement in relation with July 23 incident is an unfortunate thing, the MLA observed.
Dwijamani further observed that he became MLA of the state with due respect to the law of the land.
A statement which appears to be having indifferent between judiciary and legislature is an unfortunate thing.
If commission put up the matter of privilege against them, they will face the same.
MLA Th Lokeshwor who also attended the press conference said there was no quarrel between him and the right member, Ng Nongyai.
