Free eye screening camp held

Thoubal, October 05 2019:
Free eye screening camp organized by National Programme for Control of Blindness (NPCB), Thoubal under the aegis of District Health Society Thoubal was held at Heirok High School in connection with 'World Sight Day' today in the presence of District Programme Officer, NPCB Thoubal Dr Ksh Memcha.

About 150 students were screened during the camp and found 10 students having refractive error.
They will be given free spectacles on October 10 during a function to be held to observe 'World Sight Day' at Heirok High School.
Sources said that free cataract surgery will be performed to those patients who avail OPD service at District Hospital Thoubal on October 8 .
