Imphal, April 05 2012:
The 3-day long National Seminar on Ethnography and Tribes in Colonial Northeast India organised by Department of History, Manipur University in collaboration with Indian Council of Historical Research, New Delhi concluded at the Lecture Hall of the History Department today.
The closing function of the National Seminar was graced by Prof Emeritus GP Singh and Associate Prof Dr Salam Irene as Chief Guest and President respectively.
Speaking on the occasion, Pro Emeritus GP Singh said that there is great scope for Research Scholars of North East India to study about the different tribes in the state.
However, before trying their hands on any research work, the Scholars should choose a specific area to bring out new findings.
Otherwise, it would be a complete wastage of time to do research work on areas already taken up by other scholars.
