Imphal, April 05 2012:
Complete isolation from the developmental race witnessed worldwide today tends to wipe out the indigenous tribes of a particular society.
So, we should all join the developmental race and help each other, Leishemba Sanajaoba, Titular King of Manipur, has observed.
He was speaking as Chief Guest of the 32nd Foundation Day celebration of Sanamahi Shanglen (Sanakol) today at Kwakeithel Thokchom Leikai Community Hall.
He pointed out that there is a trend among the people of the state whenever any person comes up with a good work, none tries to encourage him.
They always try to find faults and discourage the person.
These trends also existed among the then scholars of the state who were trying to promote and protect the culture and tradition of the society.
The titular king said that numerous unwanted changes have taken place in our society.
The present generation has forgotten the value of respecting their elders.
The people take pride in calling themselves as sons of those who sacrificed their lives for the sake of motherland, but they do not have such sacrificial spirits.
To mark the occasion, Leishemba Sanajaoba released a souvenir "Ningshing Chephong" .
The function was presided over by Pukhrambam Angouba of Lainingkol Shanglen.
Padmashree Laishram Nabakishwar also attended the function as Guest of Honour.
