WATAM seeks CM's attention

Worker and Trader Association, Moreh (WATAM) has sought attention of the Chief Minister, N Biren to ensure a safe and secure environment for all the solid waste management workers working at Moreh.
In its memorandum addressed to the Chief Minister, WATAM stated that the association has been undertaking waste management since October 30, 2015 without any financial assistance from the Government or any other local authority.
The association run through donations and support from Government Office, shops, hotels but since the last two months, donations have been stopped and none of the workers has received any honorary for March and April so far, WATAM said while continuing that they are committed to continue their service as far as possible.
As COVID-19 threat is real, handling of solid waste coming out of Government hospitals, banks, public shops etc, must be handled with care for the safety of the daily workers and public in general, said WATAM while drawing attention of the Chief Minister to ensure safe and secure environment for all the solid waste management workers.
WATAM also requested to provide them with adequate face masks, hand sanitizers and hand gloves at the earliest to ensure them carry out their services without interruption.
They also sought financial assistance for urgent repairing of tractor used for solid waste management in and around the Moreh town.
