MLA Ibohanbi dismayed with absence of Cold Storage in Manipur

Oinam A/C MLA Dr I Ibohanbi on Sunday expressed dismay with the State Government's failure to develop a single cold storage in Manipur when there were around 15 cold storages in neighbouring State Tripura.
Dr I Ibohanbi was speaking at the opening ceremony of Chinjak Festval held at Heritage Park, Hapta Kangjeibung by Innovative Youth Society, Manipur.
Attending the festival as Chief Guest, the MLA said, "It is unfortunate for the people of Manipur that the State Government has failed to set up even a single cold storage in Manipur when Tripura has around 15 cold storages to store vegetables and various essential foods items" .
Dr I Ibohanbi stated that food is important for the survival of human beings and it is also important to preserve and store indigenous food items of Manipur.
The MLA also mentioned that availability of indigenous food items in the State's hotels is also necessary to attract tourists.
"Use of fertilizers in the State's food items needs to checked", added the MLA.
On the Chinjak Festival, Dr I Ibohanbi stated that number of people from both hills and valley are taking part in the festival organised by the Innovative Youth Society.
Such festival will help in strengthening ties and age-old bond of love between the communities in the State, said Ibohanbi.
The festival which will continue till December 20 was attended by Manipur University Department of Economics Prof Dr Chinglen Maisnam as President while Don Bosco Chingmeirong Principal Father Francis SDB being the Guest of Honour.
There are 33 stalls in the festival.
