The organising committee of the forthcoming 4th Manipur Chinjak (Food) Festival is all set to make the occasion a grand success.
The festival being organised by the Innovative Youth Development Association will start from October 19 and it will continue upto October 29 .
Addressing media persons at Manipur Press Club here today, Bikramjit Konthoujam, Managing Director of Innovative Youth Development Association said the food festival will be organised in association with Sekpil Foundation (Samban Lei Sekpil) and added that this time more than 50 stalls from all over the state will participate in the festival.
Explaining on why the festival is being held, he said it is being organised to preserve, promote and produce the state's traditional and indigenous food exclusively while maintaining that attention will be given to those exhibitors who produce typical traditional food rather than globalised food.
" This time famous indigenous food Chak- Hao, Mo-mo, Kabong Candy, Creamy Kabok, Rice bread etc will be showcased.
Events like stunt performance, entertainment programme, taste competition will also be a part of the festival", he said.
To make the festival a grand success, he appealed the people and to all the civil organisations to extend help and co-operation to the organising commitee and not to call bandhs during the festival.
