AICC poll observer Jairam Ramesh arrives

Former union minister Jairam Ramesh arrived here on Friday morning as the election observer of All India Congress Committee (AICC) .
Immediately upon his arrival at Bir Tikendrajit International Airport, the MP was warmly felicitated by MPCC interim president N Loken Singh and other office bearers.
Jairam Ramesh was also accompanied by AICC in-charge Manipur Bhakta Charan Das, AICC Research Department secretary Ranajit Mukherjee and social medical department national convener Pranab Bacharaj among others.
He then spoke to newspersons informing that he would hold a series of meetings within the next 4-5 days with various leaders of the party and different committees in connection with the Manipur Legislative Assembly election due early next year.
Later, a meeting of the Coordination Committee of MPCC was held at Congress Bhawan which was chaired by Dr Chaltonlien Amo and attended by the visiting central party team along with N Loken, O Ibobi, Gaikhangam, TN Haokip, M Okendro, Dr T Meinya, K Ranjit, Th Lokeshwar, AK Mirabai Devi, Kh Joykisan, Alfred K Arthur, E Dwijamani, T Mangibabau, Dr Kh Ratan, L Tilotama and A Rahman Khan.
During the meeting, discussions were held on the activities to be undertaken by the party with regard to the upcoming polls.
Prior to the meeting, Jairam Ramesh met Manipur Pradesh Youth Congress and NSU representatives and highlighted the steps to be undertaken ahead of the polls to ensure party s victory.
It is learnt that AICC leaders will meet party's campaign and manifesto committees on Saturday to ascertain the steps to be taken up.
