Ukhrul, August 27 2015:
Reiterating the demand for early formation of ADCs in Tamenglong and Chandel districts, Naga People's Front (NPF) Ukhrul unit has termed the "deliberate act of delaying" on the part of the State Government in formation of councils in the two districts an affront to the collective aspiration of the tribals.
NPF Ukhrul Unit President Wungnaoshang Shimray and General Secretary Sowing Woleng, in a communication said that the ulterior motive of the Congress led Government in delaying the formation of ADCs in Tamenglong and Chandel districts is known to all and sundry.
"Hence it is at best an attempt to suppress not only the democratic rights but also wishes and aspirations of the tribals," they said.
NPF Ukhrul said that even though the Democratic Alliance of Tamenglong and Chandel have staked claims to form councils in their respective districts several times, the SPF Government has continued to thwart the democratic process on one pretext or the other.
Further accusing the State Government of deliberately delaying the council formation, NPF Ukhrul stated in no uncertain terms that it would be compelled to take up various forms of agitation for the aspiration of tribals of Tamenglong and Chandel, if the Government fails to take necessary actions to form the councils at the earliest.

The NPF leaders while noting that Congress has failed to install its councils in the hill ADCs, they alleged that the party has resorted to cheap political gimmick in despair.
They have questioned the credibility and integrity of Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam who represents the tribal community of the State.
At the same time, NPF Ukhrul has also urged the Governor of Manipur to intervene in the ADC formation issue, while calling upon all right thinking citizens of the State to rise up against the misrule of the present Government.
