Imphal, April 15 2013:
Reacting to the recent press statements issued by various organizations in connection with alleged highhandedness of NSCN Naga Army Mobile V under the command of Col Kuresho, NSCN/GPRN has clarified as NSCN as a people's revolutionary Govt.only subscribes to a nominal 5% (royalty) tax which is compulsory in all aspects of Govt.works in the Naga country.
As such, Naga army Mobile V had invited the contractor for negotiation on many occasions but the contractor under the name of M/s Hexad Syndicate failed to comply with the request since 2010.The NSCN would like to make it clear that in order to bring out the settlement; the concerned contractor should contact commander of Naga army Mobile V Col.Kurecho at the earliest so as to avoid further misunderstanding between the NSCN and the concerned contractor, a statement of MPI NSCN/GPRN stated.
The NSCN has also denounced all the organizations which are blindly condemned NSCN without knowing the ground realities but simply went to the press without ascertaining the factual things happening in the site saying more 100 workers being held captive whereas in reality there are only 23 workers who are staying in their makeshift camps.
For the information of all, the issue is between NSCN's Naga army and the concerned contractor, hence it should be amicably resolved between them and it should not be taken in tribal lines or into another ugly developments which will only vitiate the situation otherwise a minor issue and condemning or challenging the revolutionary (NSCN) Govt, the statement cautioned.
Meanwhile, the commander of Naga Army Mobile V Col Kurecho himself has clarified that on 15th Mar' 2013 2 site in-charges were summoned but were released on 17th Mar'13 asking them to let the contractor to contact the Mobile V but so far not even telephonic contact was done by the contractor.
Moreover, the works carried out is not in line with the agreement made between the contractor and the state Govt.and despite their tall claim Trucks could not go due to the congestion of the constructed road.
Even last year one vehicle met with an accident on the same road killing one person due to the bad condition of the road.
They did not properly constructed with original sands but instead they used mud brought from Tizu River which will not last even few years.
But they have drawn the bills in terms of crores while their workmanship is highly questionable so in order to discuss all these issues the contractor was asked to come but even telephonic contact is being ignored by the contractor, Col Kurecho alleged.
Moreover, there are only 23 workers at the construction site so the question of kidnapping more than 100 workers does not arise,
he added.
