TPR rises, active cases dip below 3000

The daily test positivity rate (TPR) rose for the second consecutive day on Thursday as government bulletins reported 172 new positive Cases of Covid-19 out of 1858 samples tested in the last 24 hours.
The test positivity rate for Thursday was recorded at 9.26 per cent against 8.38 per cent on Wednesday.
Thursday also reported one death case which took the pandemic toll to 2075 .
The victim was an unvaccinated resident of Imphal West district.
In the last 24 hours, 222 patients were discharged from home isolation (178), RIMS (12), JNIMS (5) and CCCs (27).However, 1107 already discharged cases were reported only on Thursday and the total IDSP report calculated the total recovered cases in the last 24 hours as 1329.As a result, the active caseload came down to 2397 out of which 636 (26.53 per cent) are in home isolation.
There are 241 vacant beds available in JNIMS and 131 in RIMS but there is no updated information on bed availability in Covid Care Centres.
Out of the 16 districts, only two did not reported any fresh cases.
So far, the state has recorded 9742 positive cases and 73 fatalities since the beginning of the third wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 2274 new positive cases and 29 fatalities.
The weekly number of new cases and new fatalities are 1363 and 21 respectively.
According to official reports, out of the 172 fresh cases, 170 people (73 male & 97 female) are from among the general population and 2 personnel from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) whose samples were confirmed at RIMS (26), JNIMS (10) and other testing centres (136) .
The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (44), Imphal West (48), Thoubal (8), Bishnupur (9), Kakching (13), Kamjong (2), Kangpokpi (1), Tamenglong (9), Tengnoupal (3), Ukhrul (7), Noney (2), Senapati (3), Chandel (1) and Churachandpur (20).All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,35,530 (general population - 1,30,537 and CAPF personnel - 4,993) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,31,058 (general population - 1,26,182 and CAPF personnel - 4,876) and number of active cases is 2397 (general population - 2287 and CAPF personnel - 110).The recovery rate is 96.70 percent.
A total of 257 D-type and 94 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours.
Whereas, 8973 vaccine doses were administered on Wednesday and it took the cumulative number of vaccinated individuals to 14,73,908, out of which 10,86,427 had received second doses and 45,437 had taken precautionary doses.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (48,175), Imphal East (30,102), Thoubal (10,030), Churachandpur (10,980), Kangpokpi (3087), Tamenglong (3436), Bishnupur (9682), Senapati (2442), Ukhrul (3198), Kakching (6803), Chandel (2667), Noney (1142), Tengnoupal (1181), Jiribam (1109), Kamjong (1031) and Pherzawl (465) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (693), Imphal East (499), Thoubal (184), Churachandpur (166), Kangpokpi (65), Tamenglong (15), Bishnupur (200), Senapati (11), Ukhrul J49), Kakching (120), Chandel (42), Noney (5), Tengnoupal (14), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 43,667 confirmed cases per million population'(based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 30,303 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 4,98,670 tests per million population against the national average of 5,32,316 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.53 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 1858 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 9.26 per cent while the cumulative positivity stands at 8.76 per cent.
