In connection with the 48 hrs total shut down/bandh called in Jiribam, a meeting was convened today between the representatives of District Hospital Monitoring Committee, Jiribam and Deputy Commissioner Jiribam, SP Jiribam and other officials, to bring about an agreement over the former's demand.
The meeting was held at the office of the Jiribam DC.
Speaking to mediapersons during a press meet held at the office of Jiri Development Organisation (JDO), convenor of the District Hospital Monitoring Committee, N Sadananda stated that the bandh has been relaxed after agreeing upon a condition by both parties during the meeting.
He further stated that the representatives of the committee will head to Imphal tomorrow and place their demands to the concern authority.
Meanwhile, during their visit to Imphal, the Jiribam CSOs will demonstrate their support by staging a sit in protest here in Jiribam, he added.
N Sadananda also expressed that the situation will go back to normal if tomorrow's visit is successful and their demands are met.
However, in case of failure to meet their demands, stronger agitation will be launched, he warned.
