Staff of NIT Manipur, COHSEM take pledge

Employees of NIT Manipur led by the Director of the institute today took a pledge supporting the 'Jan Andolan Campaign on COVID-19' which has been launched by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi today.
The andolan or movement is a low cost but a high intensity campaign driven by people's participation for dissemination of COVID-19 awareness throughout the country using all media platforms.
"Wear mask, follow physical distancing and maintain hand hygiene" are the key messages of the campaign.
As a part of the campaign, a pledge taking ceremony was observed at NIT Manipur, Langol with Director of the institute, Prof Goutam Sutradhar, leading the event, a statement issued by the Registrar of NIT Manipur said.
It further said that the employees pledged to always wear face masks or face cover in public places, maintain a minimum distance of 6 feet and to wash hands frequently with soap and water during the ceremony.
In the meantime, all employees of Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur (COHSEM) under the instruction of the State Government took the same pledge to wear masks, maintain physical distance and hand hygiene.
The pledge taking ceremony held at the COHSEM's conference hall saw its chairman, Dr Lamabam Mahendra administering the pledge in the presence of COHSEM's Secretary, Ch Biren and Controller, A Sukumar among others, said a statement of COHSEM.
