Lions Club celebrates World Service Day

Imphal, October 08 2020:
Lions Club of Imphal celebrated World Service Day by donating food items to Hope Home (Girls Home), Takyel Khongban, Imphal West.
The club donated 4 bags of rice, potatoes, dal, edible oil and other items.
Speaking on the occasion, Lion W Bhaktaraj Singh, Dist GST Co-ordinator, Manipur Region informed the residents of the Home and the management that Lions Club International works under the motto "We Serve" .

On every occasion of calamity or pandemic, Lions Club always goes forward to help the needy, he said and continued that the club has been celebrating World Service Day every year on October 8, by donating food items or essential commodities to various Children Home/ Old Age Home.
As a part of the programme, Lion Dr Y Mohen Singh gave an awareness lecture to the residents on the precautionary measures that need to be adopted to protect oneself from Covid-19 .
The Secretary of the Club, Lion L.Swamikanta Singh requested the management of the Home to adopt a scientific Solid Waste Management approach.
Items worth approximately Rs 10,000 were donated, today.
