Imphal, May 04 2015 :
BJP Manipur Pradesh office located at Nityaipat Chuthek here saw noisy ruckus for hours over grievances in allotment of tickets for the ensuing ADC election with many aspiring candidates and their supporters alleging that the State BJP leadership indulged in bribery.
According to information received by The Sangai Express, pandemonium broke out in the party office after the State BJP unit issued the final list of 130 candidates for the Autonomous District Council election last evening.
Even as the BJP ticket committee announced that they would review the list of candidates, some senior party leaders expressed dissatisfaction at the manner in which party tickets were issued to aspiring candidates.
They pointed out that the issue arose due to allotment of party tickets to people who joined the party anew after sidelining those who have been working heart and soul for the party.
It was reported that none of the candidates who were recommended by the BJP State Committee were included in the list of candidates.
BJP North East in-charge Tapir Gao who is presently in the State is monitoring the situation.
Speaking to The Sangai Express, Chandel BJP Mandal vice-president TS Konal Anal said that for the 24 seats of Chandel ADC, they recommended 6 candidates to the State unit leaders.
Against the six people recommended, only one was given party ticket whereas most of the tickets were given to people who joined the party only recently.
He said that those who were recommended by the Mandal were workers of BJP who have been working for the party since a long time back when BJP had little presence in the State.
He asserted that what the State unit leaders are doing is totally against the ideology of Prime Minister Narendra Modi who is determined to cleanse the country of all forms of corruption.
If the leaders of BJP State unit fail to apologize to the Chandel district mandal regarding the issue at the earliest then all the members of BJP Chandel mandal will resign from the party in a few days.
Three executive members of BJP Chandel, including its working president along with State vice-president of Kisan Morcha BJP, Manipur Pradesh tendered resignation from their respective post and party's membership today.
Speaking to media persons at the party's office located at Kanankhu village, Chandel district, Tonsing Willingson Anal said that Chandel district was not aware of the existence of BJP for a long time.
"The party had gained popularity in the last Parliamentary election as a result of collective efforts and hard work of the present executive members under my leadership", he added.
Tonsing also maintained that the State president and general secretary of BJP Manipur Pradesh allotted party's ticket to members who joined the party recently, ignoring the contributions of active members who had worked for the popularity of the party for the past many years.
He further maintained that he joined the party believing in the party's principle of "Development for All, Equal Development" and the vision of Narendra Modi led Government for good governance.
"These principles and vision of good governance of BJP can't be achieved under the leadership of Th Chaoba, State president and Ashnikumar, general secretary of BJP Manipur Pradesh.
As such, I tender my resignation from the party's membership and from the post of working president of the district", Tonsing added.
Dy Holngam, Secretary of Scheduled Tribe (ST) Morcha BJP Chandel Mandal and KT Hari, Executive Member of BJP Chandel district along with Ts Beton Anal, Vice-President of Kishan Morcha, BJP, Manipur Pradesh also informed media persons that they have resigned from their respective post and the party today.

"In contrary to the hard work of Narendra Modi for removing corruption, the incumbent leaders of BJP Manipur Pradesh indulged in corruption while allotting the party ticket for the ADC election", Konal alleged.
The district vice-president also warned that all the party's workers including the executive members of the district will resign en mass, if the incumbent State president and general secretary do not apologise within 2 days time.
