2nd Mission Consultation programme concludes

Stressing the importance and inevitability of safeguarding and upholding one's identity, Kangpokpi AC MLA Nemcha Kipgen said "when we lose the sense of identity, we manifest symptoms of mental illness" .
MLA Nemcha Kipgen was speaking as chief guest at the closing event of the 2nd Mission Consultation program of Thadou Baptist Association, India, organized by TBA Mission and Evangelism Department under the theme "Go into the deep", at Keithelmanbi in Sadar Hills.
Nemcha Kipgen said one must feel free to explore the uniqueness of their culture and develop an understanding of the cultural diversity that exists in the world.
She expressed disappointment that the identity and influence of Thadou tribe in the State and in its nomenclature Kuki community is so little.
"It time for the Thadou tribe to realise who they are in order to grasp where they belong in the world", she added.
The MLA further said that one's identity is the sense of self.
She said having a sense of identity is important because it allows people to stand out as an individual, develop a sense of well-being and importance, and fit in with certain groups and cultures.
She encouraged the Thadou Baptist As-sociation-India to work for the unification of the Thadou Churches and create a platform for reconciliation of the Thadou tribe.
MLA Nemcha Kipgen released the TBA Mission Dairy in the presence of SL Paojagin, president, TBA-I, during the function.
Pastor SM Haopu, Secretary, Mission & Evangelism, TBA, said that more than 43 Evangelist are being commissioned by TBA-I TBA aims to send and commission a total of 50 Evangelist prior to its golden jubilee celebration, he informed.
Hundreds of TBA members from across the State and outside Manipur including Assam and Myanmar participated in the Mission Consultation programme hosted by Keithelmanbi Baptist Church.
Reverend Vumthang Sitlhou, Executive Secretary, TBA-India, Reverend Ngamjapao Haokip, General Secretary, TBA-Manipur and Reverend Seilen Lhoujem, Zonal Secretary, TBA-Assam, attended the programme as speakers.
