Imphal, June 02 2019:
Congress MLA Kh Joykisan has conveyed that it is imperative to be unbiased when it comes to education as the education sector needs to be addressed without any form of differentiation or categorization in order to bring development to the State as a whole.
The meritorious students were also awarded cash incentives.
He made the statement during a felicitation ceremony of high mark scorers of the Class X and XII examinations for Thangmeiband Kendra, which was organised under the aegis of Thangmeiband Kendra Development Organisation (TAKDO) at Ima Khonthokhanbi Shanglen at DM College today.
Speaking at the event, Joykisan said that the Government need to give more emphasis to the education sector as education is vital in today's society.
Lauding the School Chatsi programme of the State Government, the Cong MLA however said that if the initiative is about landing plump contracts then it will fail miserably.
He continued that there are many Government schools in Thangmeiband Kendra but the number of students at these schools is very low and added that it is a valid question as to why parents are hesitant to send their children to Government schools.
The MLA then informed that a general knowledge quiz competition for the school children of the Kendra will be organised from this year on.
