MSF intensifies 'Operation Dark Cabin'

After its initial drive of warning restaurant owners against non-compliance of laid down guidelines for operating their business, Manipuri Students Federation (MSF) has intensified its 'Operation Dark Cabin' and resorted to destroying defaulting restaurants.
A team of MSF volunteers number around 30 of them and led by it General Secretary, Aribam Boynao today inspected restaurants at Khabam Lamkhai, Chumbrei Thong Lamkhai, Lamphel Super Market, Mayai Lambi, Lilong Chajing, Langthabal Kunja, Canchipur and Thongju area.
The volunteers destroyed all the restaurants which were found not complying with the laid down guidelines.
During the drive, the volunteers came across a man and a woman; both married to different persons and have children, enjoying the company of each other inside the dark cabin of Hotel Majestic at Lamphel Super Market.
Many young boys and girls were also found cuddling inside the dark cabins of Purnima restaurant at Mongsangei; Chandranadi restaurant at Canchipur and Premi restaurant at Langthabal while some of the restaurants were found to be attached with private residences of the owners with beds laid out for the customers' satisfaction.
Speaking to media persons after the drive, Aribam Boynao said that restaurants have become a breeding place for immoral acts and as such MSF has been compelled to intensify its 'Operation Dark Cabin' from today.
He also appealed to all the clubs and organizations of every locality to co-operate with MSF and lend a helping hand in flushing out these types of seedy restaurants from the state which are detrimental to the moral character of the people in general and youths in particular.
