Gold biscuits seized

Imphal, April 20 2019:
Six gold biscuits of foreign origin valued at Rs 31,34,412 were seized from the possession of two individuals by a team of Anti-Smuggling Unit, Customs Division, Imphal at Patsoi Bazar yesterday at around 11 am.
The two individuals arrested with the gold biscuits have been identified as Nirbhay Kumar Upadhyay (31) s/o Sudhakar Upadhyay and Bachchalal (59) s/o Katavuru.
Both are natives of Uttar Pradesh.
Three gold biscuits each were concealed in their body cavity (rectum) and they were travelling to Jiribam by a passenger Winger taxi, according to a press release issued by the Assistant Commissioner, Customs Division Imphal.
